1. Secure a job offer from a Hungarian employer. 2. Employer obtains a work permit from the local government office. 3. Apply for a residence permit for employment purposes at the Hungarian embassy or consulate. 4. Submit passport, employment contract, and qualifications. 5. Upon arrival, collect the residence permit card at the local immigration office (OIF). 6. Register with tax and address authorities.
The Hungarian embassy in Abuja, Nigeria processes residence permit applications. VFS Global centers may also accept applications. Hungary has introduced the White Card for digital nomads - check if you qualify. Current processing is within standard timelines but plan for delays during summer and holiday periods.
